Science: Firefly Bug Jug
Catch fireflies with your student.  Transfer the bugs to a small terrarium with screen or cheesecloth over the top (or keep in a glass jar with a plastic lid poked with small holes for air).  Put gravel in the bottom of your terrarium; you should also include moss and potatoes.  Allow your student to observe and record findings in her nature journal.
